After being a professional painter all his life, European-based American Michael Lasoff turned to filmmaking in 2011. The scripts and most of the music scores are his own creations. In 2013, he made his first feature film, "Snowman Never Sleeps". His second feature "Republic of Dreams" was shown, nominated and/or awarded in several international film festivals, cinemas, symposiums or juried screenings. Both the features and other short films are available for free viewing on the Vimeo website. Lasoff's third feature film "Volcanic Heaven" premiered at the Badhuistheater in  Amsterdam July 7, 2017.
